In Her Words
Chloe Brockhaus | Bellevue East Scholarship Recipient
I am so thankful to have received the Bellevue Public Schools Foundation scholarship. It will be a great help for financing my future education. I plan on attending college and majoring in mathematics education and economics with the goal of teaching math or econ. I am truly blessed and extremely excited for the plan that God has laid out for me!
I have learned a ton throughout high school inside and outside of the classroom. I have always been about setting goals and having high expectations for myself, but high school has made me come to realize the importance of surrounding myself with positive friends who will support my goals and hold me accountable. I have also learned the importance of having a good time and being able to laugh at myself. Life is just too short, so maximizing moments with family and friends is essential.
With all that being said, I want to thank my parents, family, and friends for consistently supporting me throughout the years. I also want to thank my small group leader, Trish, who has been an amazing mentor. I am so grateful to have a wonderful best friend, Hannah. She has stuck with me through all of my crazy ideas and never left my side during the rollercoaster of high school experiences.
Finally, I would like to thank Mr. Simmons for creating a fantastic Academic Decathlon experience and Mrs. Sailors for being one of the only people who has had just as high expectations for myself as I do. Overall, I’m just beyond excited to see where my future will take me. Thank you!
